Safari

October 29, 2018
safari in tanzania

Hello guys!! If you are following my Instagram, you should be aware we traveled to Tanzania for our honeymoon. Exploring the African savannah like National Geographic reporters and seeing African animals having a happy life in the wild was a real dream coming true! We have spent 5 days on a safari in amazing parks; all of them have their own charm however my favorites were the Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti. One detail though: the way was quite tiring, since roads are mainly made of soil, stones and holes! I don’t recommend going if you have some back problems or you can get directly to Serengeti by plane if you can afford it! I also advice you to sleep directly inside the parks to gain time and enjoy fully the experience 🙂 Here is a summary about our route illustrated with some pictures.

Manyara lake

The first park we visited was the Manyara lake. You first enter into some woods where you can see many monkeys on the road, you can cross as well elephants, giraffes, lions and when you arrive to the central area of the park there is a big lake with a great variety of birds and you can see many hippopotamus. This park is nice but if I come back I would rather skip this park and spend one more day in the Serengeti park… you will understand why!

Ngorongoro crater

This place is really crazy, Magical!! First of all you have to cross a mountain forest full of fog and then you discover the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is 610 meters deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometers. The landscapes with these flats clouds are breathtaking and there is a huge density of life inside the crater. We saw many antelopes, gnus, pumbas (warthogs), zebras and lions!! We took our lunch at a lake inhabited by a huge hippo family and some eagles were turning around us to steal our lunch! It was an extraordinary day.Ngorongoro craterNgorongoro crater

Serengeti

My favorite park ever!!! Why? For its incredible landscapes never ending, the beautiful light, and the amazing quantity of felines!! In just 2 days we saw 2 cheetahs, 3 leopards and I cannot count how many lions!! I highly recommend sleeping in the kati kati tented camp. It is quite a very small camp of 8 big tents that have their own bathroom and toilet inside. The water is warmed thanks to solar energy and we enjoyed so much watching the sunsets and having a nice chat around the fire before the dinner. The nights are really amazing, the sky is so clear and pure, full of stars and we could hear some lions from our bed. Very cool experience!Serengeti leopard

Tarangire

This park was really beautiful because it is the only place where you can see so many baobabs and elephants! Our lodge the Burunge tented camp was totally amazing, we slept as well in a tent but it was set up on pilot to better enjoy the view and life around the lake next to the Lodge. It also has a nice pool with the view overtaking the lake.

About the safari outfit I recommend to dress comfy. You spend all your day in a car, eat a lot of dust due to “quality” of the road that will shake your booty and back all the way (they call it the African massage ahahaha). I was dressed generally with camel colors to match with the environment and your clothes never look dirty, long pants to protect myself from the mosquitos and tsetse flies and a foulard to breath dust free.;) Don’t forget your binoculars and camera with the longest zoom possible since in Tanzania it is not allowed to drive off piste to see closer the animals.safari outfitsafari look

I hope this will help you if you plan to have a safari in Tanzania. Bisous, Melissa ♡

The beret is cool

April 22, 2018
beret

Wearing a beret started with my freak passion for playing petanque while drinking a glass of wine 😉 And now that the berets are back like the ultimate fashion accessory, I have the perfect excuse to wear it outside the petanque field!! aleluiahhh Today you can find easily super cool berets to style your look in so many ways with different colors, sexy fabrics like leather and with different ornament such as pearls for a sophisticated and elegant look. In today’s outfit I wear a black beret in a casual way with a black transparent top and a bralette underneath, denim and some super comfy vans. Bisous, Melissa ♡

Winter flowers

March 15, 2018

Just because it is winter and the sky is grey, it doesn’t mean that we have to dress always in dark colors right? During this season a colorful outfit really brings me some happiness! And this blooming jumper is all I needed to remind me that spring is really coming soon:) Yessssss I can’t wait to see flowers everywhere and eat some Easter chocolates like if it was the last day of my life  ahahaha! By the way the time change in Europe will occur this Sunday 25th of March so we will wake up 1 hour earlier! As you may know the European Parliament adopted in February a resolution to end the change of time, for all countries of the European Union. So the time would be based on the UTC / GMT +1 zone, which is the winter timetable. However this law is not going to be applied yet because all the 28 EU member states have to be convinced first. Do you really think that the end of the time change is really useful? Honestly WTF, don’t they have matters more important to solve in the European commission?? Do you think this change will have an impact on energy consumption? Perhaps the real matter about energy is how to generate sufficient energy to meet people’s needs without destroying the planet? If you think I should present myself for the planet presidency press 1 ;)If you think I should shut up and speak only about fashion and flowers press 2! Bisous, Melissa ♡

Comfy

comfy winter outfit

Winter has finally come in the South East of Spain! Are you also in hibernation mode like a brown bear during the weekends of winter? With this cold season I am so exited about spending all the Sunday at home in pajamas under a good plaid, watching Netfix in the arms of my boyfriend and eating a plate of homemade cheesy pasta with a cup of a good red wine while earring the rain and the cold outside! During the week, although I do not have so much time to spend at home, it always makes me so happy to switch on a candle when arriving home. And when I’m not wearing my pajamas (although I am thinking about to wear some days a Zara Home pajamas to go to work because the last collection rocks ahah), I really enjoy wearing a super comfy winter outfit. One of the most emblematic item of winter is definitely the big sweater that has a super soft touch and especially those with chunky knit! Also a comfy outfit is all about shoes! To change from the classic black boots, snickers are the most comfy shoes you can ever wear. Today’s outfit is really comfy for winter and I really like the contrast of colors. What do you love about winter? Bisous, Melissa ♡

The office

February 4, 2018
office outfit

Do you experiment the same existential issue every morning: you have absolutely nothing to wear to go to work although your wardrobe is so full that it doesn’t even close properly? Personally I am not a morning person, sometimes I need 2 alarms to finally wake up and it really doesn’t help to get ready easily. The first alarm is the real time I should wake up and the second alarm (from 10min later to much more!) is a reminder that challenges myself to get ready faster (thinking I can always beat my own record although there is a limit that cannot be beaten …or you end going to work in pijama!!ahahah;). Obviously when this kind of thrilling morning condition occur, I finish wearing on Mondays the same outfit as Saturdays (yes it works if you don’t spend your Saturday with your workmates or do not post your Saturday outfit on social networks where your workmates can see you…) and then the rest of the week I just survive picking up the first items I can find clean but they usually do not match together the first try. So the nightmare starts, time is running out and I am able to organize a professional fashion show, testing several outfits in order to pick up the right office outfit… and start the day already exhausted, no time for breakfast, sometimes no make up at all except a red lipstick but I’m finally dressed alleluiahhhh! I finally thought I could not go on like this, I always felt impressed by my workmates, these super wonderwomans that were able to take care of them, dress and prepare the breakfast of their children and arrive at the office 30min before everybody! Mornings should be soft, I wanted to take the time to give a good morning hug to my boyfriend, to stretch, to enjoy my shower and the delicious smell of my monoi shower gel, to feel thankful for each new day while drinking my cup of tea. So I needed to change and here are some of my resolutions and tricks:

  1. Going to bed earlier is not wasting my life (I have always felt more creative and active at night, ideas just come and my brain get crazy. So going to bed at a normal time is a real challenge. We set up a rule with my boyfriend, we do not speak about exiting topics after 10pm and no social networks neither)
  2. Prepare the office outfit the day before
  3. Dresses and jumpsuit are super easy because there is no need to think
  4. All black outfits are an easy casual and elegant look

Today’s outfit is really easy to wear at the office, all back but nothing sad and boring thanks to some details like the cool design of these shoes, the knee part of this motor-biker pant and the boho necklace. Ok now I should leave you, I need to prepare my cloth for tomorrow 🙂 Bisous, Melissa ♡

Tropical

September 24, 2017

Last weekend we spent the day in Elche, a little city close to Alicante that is famous for its palm tree forest. This special place is ideal to wander, you have the feeling of being in a tropical oasis in the middle of a dry region. In fact the Palm Grove of Elche created by the Moors is one of the largest in the world and was designated by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. We really enjoy hanging out there and taking pictures of this beautiful garden. That place inspired me to add a little tropical touch to my outfit with this colorful headband. Actually, the headband is one of my favorite accessory to stylish my hair effortless when I am in a hurry or to hide my dirty hair. The headband is also a cool accessory to add a boho vibe to your outfit. You can find plenty of them very cheap in Zara in different colors and fabrics like velvet for this autumn. There are different ways to wear them, above or below your hair. As this headband has elastic I rather wear it below the hair because it gets always uncontrollable! It slides on my hair just like when you walk on a banana laying on the floor and can’t remain at its place! Are you experimenting the same existential situation with your headband? How do you keep it under your control? Any tips are always welcome ;)Bisous, Melissa ♡

Bohemian dress

September 3, 2017

The advantage to live close to the sea in a sunny area is that you can enjoy the beach life during the week-end without buying a plane ticket and go far away. I feel so grateful to have that chance because I can’t get enough to watch beautiful sunsets on the beach while drinking a cocktail and explore the life under the sea. My favorite summer outfit to go to the beach is the jumpsuit and the boho dress because they are so comfy and fast to put-on… and takeoff! I really love the blue color of this bohemian dress that matches so well this the sea at the background. Sometimes my friends ask, will you come back to Paris? Nope don’t worry for me, just want to jump again into the big blue and feel like a mermaid! Wild bisous, Melissa ♡

Vichy dress

August 12, 2017

Spotted! A dress that really inspires to have a picnic under the shadow of an olive tree and collect lemons in the countryside to prepare the perfect fresh mojito! The vichy dress was an emblematic outfit of Brigitte Bardot during the 60’s and it is more than ever a good classic for the summer holidays. I really love this vichy dress for all its little details like the knotted top and the big buttons on the skirt that make it so special. Since the dress is black and white; I feel it matches well with some colored shoes but if you are more classic some espadrilles would also be perfect! In addition if you wish to extend its summer vibes to the office, you can also wear it on a white tee-shirt to be more covered. And when you are fed up to wear your vichy dress you can always recycle the vichy fabric to make a picnic table cloth or decorate your house in the mountain ! Ahahah:D Bisous, Melissa ♡

Like in Florida

July 6, 2017

In Ibiza we chose to stay in playa d’en Bossa to be close to the city center. This area is overall famous because it is the place where people use to “sleep” (rather just take a shower and get changed!) to enjoy the crazy nightlife in Ibiza! It was quite surprising to take a walk in April in our empty neighborhood (April is the low season and the discos are all closed except Pacha) and watch the vintage architecture of this area with its squared and massive buildings overlooking the beach. One of the hotels in this area called the Tropical Suite was really reminding me Florida with its mint walls and the pink flamingo on the top of its entrance. There we shot this comfy outfit I wore to take the plane back to Alicante. I really love this grey denim shirt with its embroidery detail at its back, it adds a cool touch to this urban style. The cap and its flowers embroidery is also making a wink to this shirt mixed with a simple black legging and white top that I like to wear with a knot to look a bit more sexy;).

Slippers in the city

May 14, 2017

Today’s shooting is taking place in the old Ibiza called Dalt Vila that looks like a maze of little streets where we really enjoyed getting lost. After walking up and down in this charming area we where desperately looking for a nice and authentic tapas restaurant and finally ended in… a pizzeria! Yep, mission not accomplished but you are ready to eat anything when you feel desperately hungry or rather when your boyfriend starts to loose patience because he is starving🙂 To feel comfy for that day I wore some slippers that are as cool as the ones from a famous luxury brand (starting with the letter G and finishing with the letter I) but they are obviously more affordable. I love so much these shoes that I decided to dress according to these shoes instead to choose the shoes according to the outfit! This look is very casual, just a destroyed mom jean and a slip top that I prefer to wear without bra to feel more comfortable. Bisous, Melissa ♡
